Brazilian Laser Hair Removal

Brazilian laser hair removal is one of the most popular services we offer at SEV Laser, but it’s also one that raises the most questions.

This comprehensive service targets all of the hair that grows around the pubic area. It provides long-lasting results, saving you the need to contort yourself to shave or to suffer through painful waxing sessions.

But, you’d be right to have concerns when it comes to lasering such an intimate area. In this post, we’ll cover what it’s like to experience Brazilian laser hair removal at SEV, and answer some of the most common questions.

How Does Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Work?

First, let’s quickly explain laser hair removal itself. The laser machine emits a powerful light that penetrates through the skin, to damage active hair follicles and stop their ability to regrow hair.

The light only targets hair, without impacting the surrounding skin, so it’s a safe and effective procedure. We use the latest technology, so we’re able to treat customers of all backgrounds no matter their skin tone.

What Is Included in a Brazilian Laser Hair Removal?

Brazilian laser hair removal (and Brazilian hair removal in general) was named after the

famously itty-bitty bikini bottoms worn on Rio beaches in the 70s.

During a Brazilian laser hair removal appointment, we target all hair that grows above the pubic mound, as well as around the vulva. If you want to leave behind a bit of hair, like a landing strip, we’d be more than happy to oblige.

Your First Appointment

Brazilian Laser Hair RemovalWe know that laser hair removal can be intimidating, let alone when done “down there.” That’s why, when you come in, our focus will be on making you as comfortable as possible. The experience is a little uncomfortable (most of our customers describe it as a light sting), but the treatment only takes around 10 minutes. The mild discomfort will be over before you know it!

Our laser treatments are performed by highly trained registered nurses or laser technicians who are ready to answer all of your questions and put you at ease. Prior to your appointment, we’ll have you sign a consent form to make sure you’re a good candidate for the treatment. We’ll ask you to shave the day before your appointment and to come in wearing loose, comfortable clothes. On the day of, please avoid applying any lotions or other topical products to the treatment area. If necessary, we’ll give you a wipe so you can freshen up before we start.

Once we’re ready to start, your technician will draw a grid over the area, to mark where she’ll be lasering and to make sure she doesn’t miss any spots. Then, the treatment will start! Working over the skin, the technician will zap each quadrant with a series of pulses. She’ll work methodically until the entire area has been treated.

Finally, we’ll give you a bit of gel to soothe the skin, and you’ll be ready to continue with your day. It’s a quick treatment that you can do during your lunchtime since there’s no downtime. Your skin might be a little red and irritated, which is normal, but the irritation should subside.

It’s important that for a few days after your treatment, you avoid saunas, sun exposure, exercising, and even hot showers, in order to help the skin recover.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

You’ll notice some hair reduction immediately after your first appointment, but normally, it takes between 6 and 12 sessions to reduce almost all hair.

The hair follicles can only be receptive to the laser when they’re at the active growth stage of their cycle. Since each hair is at a different stage of the cycle, it takes a series of sessions to impact all of them to the point where hair stops growing back.

That’s why we offer packages of 6 treatments for the price of 5! It’s our little way of making it easier for you to achieve the results you want.

Often, we recommend that our clients come in just a couple of times a year for a touch-up session since hormonal changes can often stimulate regrowth.

Why Laser Hair Removal is the Best for Brazilian Hair Removal?

Removing pubic hair can be really tricky. If you usually wax or shave by yourself, you know just how difficult it can be to reach every little nook and cranny. For many of our clients, these hair removal methods also lead to painful bumps or ingrown hairs.

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair reduction method. It saves you nearly a lifetime of having to wax or shave. As the hair stops growing back, you’ll even stop experiencing ingrown hairs! In the long term, it’s also much more affordable than professional waxing.

All-in-all, it’s a safe and effective procedure. The sooner you start your laser hair removal journey, the sooner you’ll get it over and done with. If you’d like to, book your Brazilian laser hair removal as soon as possible at your nearest SEV Laser location. Also If you’d like to enjoy total smoothness you can try Bikini line  laser hair removal too.

If you’ve ever had Brazilian wax, you’ll be happy to know that laser is much less painful! The zap of the laser feels like a very mild sting, and the treatment is extremely fast. At SEV, all of our machines are equipped with a cooling feature that eases the sting immediately after each pulse.

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair reduction treatment, which means that once you achieve your desired results, they are intended to last a lifetime. That said, hormonal fluctuations can induce regrowth, which can be easily inhibited with the occasional touch-up appointment.

For a few weeks before your Brazilian laser hair removal appointment, make sure to avoid tanning, including using self-tanners. Avoid using resurfacing skincare ingredients, as well, and make sure you’re not on any medications that are contra-indicated for laser hair removal. Finally, make sure to shave the day before your appointment.

Yes! Laser hair removal is approved by the FDA as safe and effective, and that includes Brazilian treatments. As long as you’re a good candidate for the treatment and follow all necessary pre-care and aftercare requirements, it’s perfectly safe.
