If you’ve been feeling down, it might be time for an uplifting beauty treatment! With age, your skin loses its elasticity while muscles lose their power. Suddenly, your features sit a little lower on your face, which can be a distressing change — especially when it’s your brows drooping down and making you feel tired or haggard.

Thankfully, treatments like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin can be used for a non-surgical eyebrow lift. These injectables lift the brows, opening up your features and giving you a fresh, youthful look. If that sounds up your alley, read on to learn how an eyebrow lift with Botox works!

What Is a Non-Surgical Brow Lift?

A non-surgical brow lift is a treatment that gives the brows a lifted appearance without the need for surgery. Cosmetic injections like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are the best options since they help to actively lift and tighten the muscles that control the brows in a way that also helps to eliminate wrinkles.

Other treatments that can offer a non-surgical brow lift include Forma and Morpheus8, which use radiofrequency to help firm the skin and lift the muscles. These treatments are a little more subtle and may require several treatments to show results, compared to Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport which only require a single treatment but more frequent touch-ups.

How Does a Non-Surgical Brow Lift Work With Botox?

Botox brow lifts work by relaxing the muscles in the upper part of the forehead. This causes the muscles lower on the forehead to contract which gives the brows a lift. This effect can also be achieved with other neuromodulator injectables like Dysport and Xeomin

When treatments like Botox are injected into muscles, they inhibit the process that leads to muscle contractions, which is why they’re so useful for fading expression wrinkles.

With a Botox brow lift, the process is a little different and the knowledge required is complex. When one muscle is forced to relax, another muscle will often contract, which isn’t easy to predict without a good understanding of facial muscle anatomy.

Being able to control this response requires significant expertise and training. Inexperienced providers may inject the Botox too low or in the wrong place, which can actually lead to a more droopy look.

Which Will Work Best for You?

Brow lifts can be achieved with any commercial neuromodulator, including Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

Botox and Xeomin are extremely similar, for instance. Xeomin is newer on the market and has a formula that has undergone additional filtering which may lead to a lower risk of developing resistance (a rare side effect on its own).

Dysport is a little different. The way it is processed and diluted means that it spreads a little more and often kicks in a little faster (although results will differ from patient to patient). If you’ve tried either Botox or Xeomin before and weren’t pleased with the results or longevity, you can always give Dysport a try to see if it’s more suitable for you!

Overall, these three treatments are all excellent for achieving a brow lift. What’s much more important is that you have the treatment carried out by a very experienced injector with a deep understanding of facial anatomy and the nuances of each one of these treatments.

At SEV, consultations are a key part of our process, so feel free to get in touch with us to discuss your options and understand which injectable will be best for you!

What to Expect Before and After

There are a few important care tips to follow before and after your Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport brow lift.

Prior to your appointment, it’s incredibly important to go over all of the customer care information to make sure you’re a good candidate for the treatment. Let your injector know about any medication you’re taking, and speak to your doctor if you have any pre-existing health conditions.

During the appointment, the injector will first give you a quick consultation and let you know what to expect. Then, after examining your face and understanding your muscle movement patterns, they’ll inject the Botox in several spots near the top of your forehead.

After the appointment, the treatment area might feel a little sore or swollen. You’ll have to be careful to avoid laying down or bending forward, as well as rubbing the area.

Your results won’t show up immediately. Your muscles will start relaxing gradually several days after the treatment, and you will likely see the full results of your non-surgical brow lift within about two weeks. The precise longevity of the results varies from client to client, but you can generally expect your brow lift to last for several months.
