What to Expect With Laser Hair Removal: Your First Time at SEV Laser
Picture this: it’s just you and your new laser nurse. You’re sitting in the chic SEV Laser treatment room, and things are about to get started. It’s ok to be nervous! It even makes sense if you’re not sure what to expect with laser hair removal. It can be especially daunting if you’re baring it all in front of a stranger.
To help you feel a little more confident about your first laser hair removal appointment, here’s what you can expect. Knowing all of the little details should help you feel more comfortable and prepared for your very first appointment.
We’re Trained Professionals
Your laser hair removal provider isn’t a random person! They’re a trained medical professional. In some states, your provider will be a registered nurse with specialized laser training, while in others, they’re a highly-trained laser technician.
No matter which SEV location you visit, rest assured that you’re in the hands of a thoroughly vetted, specialised professional who is an expert in the field of laser hair removal.
They see fabulous people like yourself in their bare essentials ALL DAY LONG. So welcome to the club, you’ve got nothing going on that your nurse hasn’t seen before.
So just like your eyelash girl, your nail lady, and the barista that makes your latte just as skinny as you love it, your nurse should be your go-to pro. You can rely on them as a trusted resource on what to expect with laser hair removal.
We’ll Talk Your Ear Off
We always have our clients sign a series of comprehensive paperwork long before their appointment. By the time you’re sitting in a our chair, you’ll already be very well-informed. Even so, we don’t take chances.
It’s Quicker Than You Think
Once you’re well informed, the actual lasering can start. You’ll be surprised by just how quickly it goes by!
Underarms? 5 minutes. Brazilian? 10 minutes. Legs? 15 to 25 minutes.
So no, you don’t need to block out your entire afternoon. You can just pop in during your lunchtime, and it’ll be over before you know it.
Expect a Light Sting
One of the biggest worries our clients have about laser hair removal is pain. We’re not going to pretend that it doesn’t hurt at all, but it’s also not that bad. Have you ever been stung with a rubber band? Each pulse of light is like a little sting with the tiniest rubber band you can imagine. It’s not fun, but it’s not as bad as waxing.
Get Soothed Right After
Our laser machines are all equipped with a cool shot, so immediately after every pulse, you’ll also get zapped with a cool shot. This helps calm the skin immediately, and it also helps prevent some irritation.
Then, when your treatment is over, we’ll let you smooth on some soothing gel to help your skin even more. You can expect some redness for a few hours after your treatment (or a couple of days at most), but soon enough your skin will be back to normal.
So when the time comes (and remember, you’ll have to book your appointment first), don’t be afraid. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you need. Once we start, just sit back and relax. At SEV Laser, you’re always in good hands.
