Nose Botox: Bunny Lines, Nose Lifts, & More

Nose Botox can upgrade your confidence in a few surprising ways. It treats bunny line wrinkles, creates a non-surgical nose lift, or offers subtle slimming — all based on what you want! In this guide, we explain how nose Botox works, what it can treat, and everything else you may want to know about the process.

What Can Botox Do for the Nose?

Botox works by relaxing the muscles where it has been injected. The effect is localized, which means it can even target the tiny facial muscles that influence the shape of the nose. It can be injected in ways that impact the nose in a few different ways:

Soften Bunny Lines

The most popular nose Botox treatment is to reduce bunny lines, which are the wrinkles that form along the sides and across the bridge of the nose when you scrunch your face. As with all expression wrinkles, these lines can get etched in over time due to repetitive movement and loss of skin elasticity.

To treat bunny lines, Botox is injected into the muscles along the sides of the nose, called the nasalis muscles. Each person’s muscles recruit a little differently to create bunny lines, so this is the kind of Botox nose treatment that has to be precision-tailored to your facial anatomy.

Create a Nose Lift

Also known as a “Tinkerbell nose” treatment, a Botox nose lift involves slightly lifting the tip of the nose for a more upturned look. It’s very subtle, but sometimes even a little lift can raise your confidence.

To create a nose lift, Botox is injected into the little muscle under the septum called the depressor nasi, which pulls the tip of the nose downward, especially when you smile. Relaxing that muscle reverses the pulling effect to lift the nose upwards.

Your injector may also treat the top part of your alar nasalis muscle to create a slimmer nose tip, but only if appropriate to your facial anatomy.

Prevent Nostril Flaring

Using Botox to treat nostril flaring is becoming a little more popular. This can be a nice little treatment if you find that your nostrils sometimes expand involuntarily, especially in photos.

To treat the nostril, your injector will target the alar nasalis muscle, injecting along the curve of your nostrils. This can also help create a slightly slimmer nose, so some providers advertise it as Botox nose slimming.

Nose Botox Benefits

There are a few specific benefits that make nose Botox stand out as a great option compared to other nose treatments:

  • It’s quick; appointments often take 15 minutes or less
  • It’s minimally invasive with no downtime
  • Affordable, as it requires a small quantity of Botox
  • Customizable and versatile, with options for nose slimming, lifting, or reducing wrinkles
  • Not a long-term commitment, results last for 3-4 months

Side Effects and Risks

The nose Botox injection itself can hurt a little. Common side effects after treatment include a bit of tenderness, redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site. These side effects are usually mild and quick to resolve.

There are also risks if getting treated by a provider with limited experience or a poor understanding of the nose’s complex muscle structure. Injecting a client in a way that’s not right for their facial anatomy can cause strange changes and muscle behavior in the lips.

Lastly, if you experience unusual complications like eye/vision, breathing, or swallowing problems, please seek medical care immediately.

What’s It Like to Get Nose Botox?

Before the treatment, your injector should first discuss your goals and analyze your features. Depending on which nose treatment you’re getting, they may ask you to move your face to see which muscles are responsible for your concerns.

Then, based on this consultation, they’ll mark the injection points and start injecting. Typically, most nose Botox treatments only use 1-2 units of Botox per injection site, so the entire process is quite quick.

After the injection, you may feel some discomfort. Swelling and bruising at the injection site are common but quick to disappear. Your results won’t be visible immediately — Botox typically takes around 2 weeks to reach its full potency, at which point you’ll see the change in your nose.

If your provider thinks you’re not a candidate for nose Botox for any reason, they should tell you honestly and decline to treat you.

How Much is Nose Botox?

Different types of nose Botox can vary in price, depending on how many units are required. Only getting a nose lift or bunny line Botox usually uses 4-8 units, so it costs between $52–$104 per treatment at SEV. If you’re looking for a complete transformation, you may find yourself paying approximately $200 per treatment to treat all parts of the nose. This is based on a per-unit price of $13.

How Long Does Nose Botox Last?

Nose Botox typically only lasts for 3-4 months. Thankfully, nose Botox doesn’t require many units, so maintaining it is not too costly.

If you’ve been considering getting a rhinoplasty but find yourself hesitating to commit, knowing that your nose will return to normal after a few months can actually offer peace of mind. It can be a great experiment to see if you even want to change anything about your nose.
