Laser hair removal has become one of the most affordable and effective ways to stay smooth. We tend to associate it with body treatments, but if you regularly have to remove facial hair, why not consider laser?
The Laser Hair Removal for Facial Hair video shows exactly how the procedure works. It opens with a shot of one of our gorgeous SEV med spas. Then, we cut to give you a closer look at how face laser treatments are performed at SEV.
Our video includes captions and title cards to provide extra details about the treatment. This includes information about side effects, risks, and recovery.
How Facial Laser Hair Removal Works
Facial laser hair removal is performed the same way as in other areas, like the legs and arms. Modern lasers are extremely effective at targeting hair follicles all over the body, and gentle enough to be used on the face.
As seen in the video, the skin is exposed to an intense pulse of light that targets melanin in the hair. The heat produced by the laser disables the hair follicle, preventing regrowth. This makes it preferable to short-term solutions like shaving and waxing, which increase your risk of infection or ingrown hairs.
If you’re unhappy with the hair on your face or neck, it’s a long-term solution. It can help you stay smooth and hair free with as little maintenance as possible.
Experiencing Laser Hair Removal for Face at SEV
At SEV, we use an inclusive laser hair removal system that’s safe for all skin types. Laser hair removal should be accessible for everyone, which is why our services are reasonably priced and tailored to each patient.
When you arrive at SEV for your appointment, our staff will carefully assess your skin. This helps us customize your treatment, selecting the appropriate laser and adjusting the settings. Alexandrite is best for patients with light skin, while Nd:YAG laser is best for patients with dark skin.
From there, you can point out areas that you want to be hair free. Facial laser hair removal can help remove unwanted hair anywhere, including the upper lip, cheeks, jawline, and neck. You can also undergo laser hair removal to reduce sideburns or remove hair growing between your eyebrows (a unibrow).
In the video, you can see the tools and techniques we use. Spot by spot, your provider will go over each area to zap every follicle. This is done carefully to achieve even coverage and effective results.
Face Laser Hair Removal Risks and Side Effects
The follicle is the only thing targeted during laser hair removal. This means that there are few risks associated with laser hair removal. Even patients with darker skin can now safely receive treatment with newer lasers, like the Nd:YAG.
However, due to the sensitivity of the skin, it’s not uncommon to experience mild side effects following treatment. The intense light used to disable the hair follicle produces heat, which sometimes leads to inflammation.
As mentioned in the video, this can present as slight tenderness, redness, and swelling. Refrain from touching or scratching the treated area. Stick to gentle cleansers and unscented moisturizers for at least 10 days following laser hair removal.
If you’re prone to acne or ingrown hairs, we recommend exfoliating 10 days after your laser session. Our staff are committed to delivering the safest, most effective treatment, and we’re happy to answer questions before and after each session.
