If you’re considering laser hair removal, there are a few things you’re bound to ask about, like where to go, how it will feel, and, critically, how much does laser hair removal cost? Finding the answer to the first two questions is easy, but figuring out laser hair removal costs gets complicated.
Our laser hair removal pricing at SEV is easy to find, but that’s not always the case elsewhere. Not having access to prices makes it tough to compare and budget accordingly. In the hopes that you can save a bit (or a lot) of money and headaches, here’s our complete price guide for 2026.
How Laser Hair Removal Prices Work
Total laser hair removal costs differ widely based on treatment area size, number of treatments, and the actual provider you end up visiting. Treating larger areas will cost more than treating small areas, and each provider categorizes treatment areas differently.
It takes a series of laser hair removal sessions to see significant hair reduction. The exact number of sessions varies from person to person and even body part to body part. This leads many providers to recommend individual consultations before they’ll offer a quote.
Finally, when developing pricing, your laser hair removal provider also considers their overhead costs, including the type of technology they use and the associated service costs. More targeted dual-wavelength lasers with Nd:YAG and Alexandrite wavelengths typically cost more than diode lasers.
Average Cost of Laser Hair Removal — Industry Reports
There are many industry reports on how much laser hair removal costs, and each one shares slightly different numbers. Here’s what leading industry sources have to say, including an independent pricing study commissioned by SEV:
American Society of Plastic Surgeons
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the most commonly cited source for laser hair removal costs. In 2025, the ASPS reported that the average price of laser hair removal and other laser treatments is $697.
While ASPS doesn’t release its methodology, this estimate probably comes from polling its members, and there’s a high chance that the average rate listed combines both single-service and package prices.
RealSelf
RealSelf is a directory with user-submitted prices and reviews of cosmetic procedures, so it’s an excellent resource for treatment costs. According to RealSelf, the average cost of laser hair removal in 2023 was $1,043, which is a more realistic estimate for laser packages.
CareCredit
In 2023, healthcare financing company CareCredit commissioned a pricing study to uncover laser hair removal costs. On average, the study identified a price range between $207 and $913 based on treatment area sizes. The study also identified a massive range in potential costs, with prices starting at as low as $45 for extra-small areas, and going up to $1,264 for extra-large areas like full legs.
SEV Laser
In 2024, SEV Laser commissioned a pricing study based on single service prices. The study revealed the common costs for the most popular treatment areas:
- Brazilian laser hair removal costs $241 on average
- Underarms cost $130 on average
- Full legs cost $397 on average
- Full body laser hair removal costs $739 on average

Packages (Price Per Session)
It’s very common for providers to offer significant discounts through laser hair removal packages. Different providers offer packages with different numbers of sessions, so the best way to identify value is to calculate the cost per session with each package.
At SEV, we offer an 8-session package for our clients who would like to save on sessions with a limited commitment.

18-Month Membership or Lifetime Plans (Price Per Session)
Many providers, including SEV Laser, offer lifetime laser hair removal packages, either with monthly payment plans or upfront payments.
Because there is so much variation in what these packages or plans include, it can be tough to quantify the price per session or the total value.
You’ll usually come across two types of lifetime offers:
- A set number of initial treatments over one to two years, followed by touch-ups at a discounted rate.
- Truly 18-Month Membership packages that often cost several thousand to upwards of ten thousand dollars*.
As a customer, you should understand exactly what you’re getting before making a commitment — even if that means having consultation calls with a few different providers.
SEV’s 18-Month Membership was designed to maximize your hair reduction potential while keeping the price as budget-friendly as possible. It includes as many sessions as you need for the first 18 months (maximum of one per month), followed by a lifetime of free annual touch-ups.

Laser Hair Removal Prices vs Other Hair Removal Methods
While the cost of laser hair removal may seem high at first glance, take into consideration how much you’re spending on other hair removal methods! Laser hair removal is a one-time investment that delivers lasting results — especially if you opt for a lifetime option like SEV’s 18-Month Membership.
Cost of Waxing
When comparing waxing vs laser hair removal, a single laser hair removal session can cost almost the same as a professional waxing appointment. According to StyleSeat, the average price of a Brazilian wax is $59. Considering most people get waxed once a month, that means that waxing can cost you over $20,000 over 30 years.
Meanwhile, an 18-Month Membership at SEV for the same area is a one-time cost of just $810-$990, depending on your region (with payment plans available). That’s thousands of dollars in savings, and even tens of thousands of dollars if you’re treating more areas.
Cost of Shaving
Shaving might be more affordable than waxing, but the cost of razors and shaving creams still adds up. If you’re prone to ingrown hairs or razor burn, post-shaving soothing or exfoliating products can also put a dent in your budget.
There’s a lot of variability in how often people shave or replace their razors, but let’s assume you replace a $2.50 razor cartridge once a week — that’s still almost $4,000 over 30 years, and that’s without shaving cream. Choosing laser hair removal will still put you ahead in the long run.
